Nursery

This juvenile production phase occurs when the larval shrimp bodyweight reaches approximately 2 milligrams and can continue until the individual shrimp weighs 300 milligrams or more. Proper growth and development during this stage conditions the animals to manage the rigors faced in what are often more challenging grow out environments. Separate nursery infrastructures are increasingly being adopted by farmers due to the value they provide from both biological and economical perspectives. Since the early 2000’s Zeigler has pioneered the development of a range of nursery feeds to meet various juvenile production conditions from extensive ponds to the highest density tanks and raceways.
