Warehouse Inventory Assistant

Come join our growing team! Zeigler Bros. Inc. is an established manufacturer of high-end specialty feeds for the aquaculture, pet, and bio-medical research industries. With our continued growth, we have an opening for a Warehouse Inventory Assistant, 1st shift.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent has the responsibility to receive bagged ingredients at multiple locations, assure product is in acceptable condition, properly label and organize ingredient warehouse areas. Individual must be able to forecast daily ingredient usage and perform ingredient transfers from multiple locations by company box truck. They are also to sample certain ingredients for quality following QA procedures and provide as a back-up for the Tag Coordinator and E B shipping.
Responsibilities: Receive all incoming bagged ingredients, supplies label to organize the appropriate areas using FIFO (first in/first out). All company quality assurance procedures must be followed. Sampling, inspecting, and verifying all incoming bagged ingredients. Completing all ingredient POs in a timely manner and entering into inventory system. Clean and maintain ingredient warehouse areas and assist with the weekly cleaning list. Maintain good communication with production, QA and purchasing. Assist in maintaining accurate inventories and assist with inventory control counts. Provide as a back-up to the Tag Coordinator and assist E B shipping with transfers to finished feed warehouse. Other duties as assigned.
Training, skills, knowledge and/or experience: Good problem-solving skills, understand basic quality concepts, able to follow instructions, must be detail-oriented, must be able to multitask. Warehouse/inventory background, good communication skills, must have good computer skills in Outlook, Excel and Word.
Must be certified to operate a forklift or willing to train to operate forklift.
Must be able to obtain DOT physical to drive company box truck.
Adverse work conditions: Must be able to sustain daily exposure to dust, noise, heat and cold. Exposure to dangerous equipment and other hazardous conditions requiring safety adherence to PPE, safety rules and procedures at all times.
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, crawl, reach, and lift up to 55 pounds on a continuous basis. Must pass a job-related pre-employment physical and drug screening. Must be able to obtain DOT physical to drive company box truck.
Overtime could be required based on production needs.
