FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
East Berlin, PA – May 2, 2025 — In a heartfelt celebration held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Zeigler Bros. marked a remarkable milestone—90 years and 3 family generations of business operations. The company’s anniversary banquet served not only as a moment of reflection in honoring its legacy, but as a launchpad for continued collaboration, growth, and community engagement. 3rd Generation owners, Matt and Tim Zeigler, presided over the event and were honored to recognize those who made 90 years of business possible.
Founded in 1935 along the bristling waters of the Conewago Creek, Zeigler has never let geography define its reach. From pioneering local animal feed manufacturing to expanding international partnerships, Zeigler’s vision of bringing value to the lives of its customers, employees, and communities resonates here and around the globe. With manufacturing facilities located in East Berlin, the company sells to over 50 countries including the US and Canada.
The banquet honored both past and present employees. Remarkably, 12 of those in attendance have been with the company for more than 30 years, and 2 current employees, Tim Markey and Lee Leer, were honored for 45 years of service. Special recognition was also given to a group of distinguished retirees whose decades of dedication helped shape Zeigler’s success. Their loyalty is a living testament to Zeigler’s enduring Core Values: Love, Integrity, Value, and Elegance—principles that continue to guide every step the company takes.
“It feels like family to me,” said Vice President Tim Zeigler. “Whether it’s our customers, our employees, or our community, the secret to our 90-year journey has always been love for what we do, integrity in how we do it, and the belief that real value is built one relationship at a time. This event is powerful reminder that great things grow from small beginnings, and that the most valuable ingredient in any success are the people behind it.”
Dr. Tom Zeigler, 2nd generation owner and a visionary for aquaculture, offered reflections during the event that captured the heart of Zeigler’s philosophy: “There are no problems—only opportunities. When you look for them, you find them. And when you find them, you must act.” That bold mindset helped Zeigler rise from a devastating fire in 1961 to become recognized as a leader in aquaculture nutrition and feed technology.
As the company looks toward its 100th year, it continues in its tradition of entrepreneurial spirit driven by big ideas. Innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainable value will remain core to the company’s future.
