Zeigler Bros., Inc., announces the arrival of EZ Artemia Ultra, the most advanced liquid diet for shrimp larvae ever manufactured, in Ecuador. Designed as a partial or complete replacement for brine shrimp nauplii or as a complementary food for shrimp larvae, EZ Artemia Ultra builds on more than two and a half decades of excellence in research and manufacturing of liquid laboratory feeds. Developed and tested at the Zeigler Aquaculture Research Center (Z-ARC), EZ Artemia Ultra represents a significant advance in product performance, focused on the specific nutritional requirements of shrimp larvae.
This is the fifth launch of EZ Artemia Ultra in Latin America since the product was first introduced in 2021.
The launch took place at the Puerto Lucía Yacht Club in Salinas on May 8 and was sponsored by Prilabsa, exclusive distributor of Zeigler Bros., Inc. Dr. Leandro Castro, Research Projects Manager at Zeigler, presented a group of farmers from the Peninsula on advancing liquid feed technology to a new level of performance and efficiency. Dr. Castro highlighted that “The new EZ Artemia Ultra now provides even greater protection against bacterial pathogens such as vibrio through the inclusion of Zeigler probiotics, Rescue in the microcapsules actively works against vibrio in the digestive system of the larvae and Remediate in the fraction liquid on organic matter and ammonium control”.
EZ Artemia Ultra is more buoyant than dry diets, has a higher nutrient density, uses improved ingredients for better digestibility, and is highly stable in water. Improving the fitness of the larvae is achieved through the precise delivery of functional probiotics to improve gut health and the use of supplements such as Vpak and organic acids. The synergistic effects of these advances support significant improvements in larval performance.
Like the first and second generation of the product, EZ Artemia Ultra’s Soft and Moist Encapsulated Liquid Diet is fed as a full or partial replacement for Artemia nauplii or as a supplemental diet. A key enhancement to the third generation product is the increased nutrient density in each capsule through a state of the art microencapsulation process.
Biosecurity risk is a constant challenge in larval hatcheries and during beta testing tanks in which EZ Artemia Ultra replaced Artemia nauplii had lower bacterial counts than those observed in tanks fed with Artemia nauplii.
EZ Artemia is formulated with only the highest quality marine ingredients and free of all terrestrial animal proteins.
EZ Artemia Ultra is distributed in Ecuador by Prilabsa located at Av. 11 between 15th and 16th streets, Vía a Salinas, Ecuador. Phone: (+593) 4-2783666 Mobile: (+593) 999619853 Fax: (+593) 4-2784892.
